Roswell earns top honors for digital promotion campaign targeting tourism

The city of Roswell recently received the New Mexico Hospitality Association’s Top HAT award for Best Digital Campaign. The Nov. 6 Top HAT Awards Gala in Albuquerque celebrated those who have performed exceptional work to elevate the travel, tourism and lodging industries in New Mexico.

Roswell’s award-winning campaign, led by the city’s Public Affairs Department, was named “Roswell Tourism: Believe.” The message it portrayed was that Roswell has intrigue, mystery, curiosity and wonder that are found in the city’s natural landscapes, museums and cultural events. The campaign proudly proclaimed that there is a bit of Roswell in everyone and that Roswell is a place where “eccentricity is embraced, quirky is cool, and different is in demand.”

The judging panel, composed of tourism and hospitality professionals from Arizona, believed “Roswell Tourism: Believe” had clear goals, trackable impressions, produced nights/rooms booked and exceeded benchmarks in all areas. Roswell’s winning campaign topped the digital category that included campaigns from the city of Gallup, town of Silver City, city of Tucumcari, TOURISM Santa Fe, La Fonda on the Plaza (Santa Fe), Santa Fe County and Visit Albuquerque.

The city of Roswell would like to congratulate MainStreet Roswell on its Top HAT award for Best Social Media Campaign. The entry focused on the promotion of the 2019 UFO Festival. City of Roswell representatives attending the awards gala accepted the award on behalf of MainStreet Roswell.
