Erminia (Minnie) Mendiola

Erminia (Minnie) Mendiola went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, November 21, 2019, at the age of 90. She was born on August 18, 1929, in Roswell, NM, to Pedro and Guadalupe Flores. Minnie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Guadalupe Mendiola, whom she was married to for 49 years. Guadalupe passed away on April 7, 1997. Minnie is also preceded in death by her grandchildren: Andre Fisher, Jeffery Purcella, Maston Mendiola, and Jesus Vega II; her parents, Pedro and Guadalupe Flores; siblings: Elisa Reyes, Juan Flores; and son-in-law, Jim Santistevan.

Minnie’s life was a living example of a prayerful woman. She strongly believed in the power of prayer and was ready to pray for anyone when there was a need. She treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, embracing every moment with them. She loved to stay in touch and share their special moments with them on Facebook. Minnie was also known for the many blankets she crocheted, out of love, for every grandchild.

Minnie is survived by her children: Lillian (Leo) Marrujo, Dolores (Alfred) Carrillo, Clara (Mike) Murphy, Geraldine Fisher, Manuel (Laurie) Mendiola, Angie Santistevan, Virgie Purcella, and Anna (Alan)Patterson. She is also survived by her sisters: Lupe (Rudolph) Najar, Estefana (Jerry) Miles, Gloria (Ralph) Fresquez; along with 31 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

There will be a viewing at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at 10:00 AM, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery.
