Downtown North Main Street will be closed to traffic for a short time Saturday evening so the public can enjoy the annual Holiday Electric Light Parade put on by MainStreet Roswell.

Main Street will be closed between Second and 11th streets from 5 p.m. until the parade ends, which is expected to be no later than 7:30 p.m., according to a press release issued by the city of Roswell Tuesday.

Parade participants will set up in the parking lot off North Virginia Avenue on the east side of the county courthouse. The parade lineup will proceed to Main Street for the start of the parade at 6 p.m. The parade will begin at Fourth Street and move north, ending at Ninth Street.

The northbound procession is a change from past years, when the parade has traveled southbound, according to the press release.
