Members of the Pecos Valley Iris Society brought large bags filled with food to Harvest Ministries on Tuesday. “This is the first time we donated to Harvest Ministries,” Smith said. The society donates every year to a different charity. Asked how many organizations have donated so far this season, Green said, “We are blessed, there were lots, including the university (Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell), Roswell Independent School District, Lovelace Hospital — Leprino gave us 60 turkeys for Thanksgiving and Gateway gave 40.” Pictured from left, pastor and director of Harvest Ministries, Mark Green; vice president of the Pecos Valley Iris Society (PVIS), Pat Krakauskas; PVIS past president Georgia Schoenecker; PVIS recording secretary Peggy Void; PVIS past president Pegi Smith; and current PVIS president Isabel Olsen.
