Books, cookies, songs and, of course, a visit from Santa highlighted the second annual Yuletide Festival held Saturday afternoon at the Roswell Public Library.

Hundreds of parents and their kids attended the event, which also was supported by the Roswell Public Library Foundation and the New Mexico Humanities Council.

The event started with a Christmas song sing-a-long led by Andy Mason, a New Mexico Humanities Council speakers bureau member, who also provided a bit of historical and cultural information about each tune.

Then kiddos could decorate gingerbread cookies, pick out a free book or talk with Santa. Of course, the really festive among the group did all three.
