Pecos Trails Transit will have buses in limited operation New Year’s Day. Buses will be running only on Main Street, according to a city of Roswell press release issued earlier this month. On New Year’s Day, the buses will run what would normally be a Sunday schedule from 10:28 a.m. to 6:52 p.m. They will run a normal schedule New Year’s Eve. The Sanitation Department’s trash pickup for New Year’s week will remain on a normal schedule since New Year’s Day falls on a Wednesday when trash pickup does not occur as part of the regular schedule. The landfill will be closed New Year’s Day. On New Year’s Eve, the Recreation and Aquatic Center and Adult Center each will close early — the Recreation and Aquatic Center at 6 p.m. and the Adult Center at 5 p.m. The Spring River Zoo (which is closed every Tuesday) will be open New Year’s Day.
