The Roswell Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in providing information related to two incidents that occurred Dec. 26.

RPD is asking for the public’s assistance with information that may help identify and locate those responsible for a home-invasion robbery that occurred Dec. 26 in the 2700 block of Chrysler Drive around 7 p.m.

Two perpetrators wearing all black, with their faces covered, entered an 86-year-old woman’s home through an open door and demanded money, according to a press release issued by RPD on Monday.

The victim gave them some cash and the suspects left. One of the suspects held a knife, pointed down toward the floor, throughout the incident.

A Dec. 26 drive-by shooting is also under investigation, according to the press release. A residence in the 1200 block of East Walnut Street was struck by multiple gunshots about 10 p.m. while a woman and five children were inside.

Two of the shots ended up entering the home, but fortunately no one was struck. A pit bull dog outside was struck by the gunfire. It survived its injuries.

A newer model black SUV was seen in the area right before the shots were heard, but it is unknown if that is the suspect vehicle.

Anyone with information regarding either of these cases is asked to call RPD at 575-624-6770 or Chaves County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-594-TIPS(8477).
