The First Friday of 2020 is Jan. 3, and MainStreet Roswell, the organizing group, says downtown merchants will be making the day a fun one.

There will be music, food, kids’ activities, discounts and special offers so good that “you’ll be seeing 20/20,” the group said in a news release.

Robyn Scott will perform live music from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Rustic Essentials, 125 N. Main St. Backdraft BBQ will be serving food and Bonito Valley Brewing also will be there — all the way from Old Town Lincoln.

The Roswell Public Library will be doing a free activity inside Tascosa, 321 N. Main St., making “My 2020 Vision” boards. There will be a free kids’ art project at Main Street Arts/The Gallery, 223 N. Main St., and Once Again Consignment, 207 N. Main St., will have a hot cocoa bar — and you can keep the mug, while supplies last. Vitality Hydration also will be there offering B12 shots and vitamin IVs meant to help people recover from after-holiday fatigue.

“The beautiful winter lights still will be in the trees, making shopping and walking in the area feel magical,” the MainStreet Roswell news release states. “Even if it’s cold, there will be a very warm welcome inside the downtown shops. It’s a great time for a ‘mini-vacation’ in downtown Roswell.”
