Jacquelynn “Jackie” Michelle Swinford, age 42, of Killeen, TX peacefully passed from this life during the evening hours of Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Baylor, Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas.

Jackie was born on August 5th, 1977 in Orange, California. When she was 6 months old, she was adopted by Vince and Mary Carter. Her birth-mother, Loni Carter (no relation to Vince and Mary) continued to be in Jackie’s life. She was very loved by all 3 parents and by everyone who knew her. She grew up in Roswell, New Mexico and attended ENMU-R. On November 15, 2000 Jackie married Jerry Swinford and they created a beautiful family.

Jackie was a devoted mother and grandmother; family was everything to her and she could always be counted on in a time of need. She was a feisty, but loving person with beautiful, red hair that people would complement on frequently. Jackie enjoyed cooking for her family, playing skill games, and listening to audio books. When she was young, she enjoyed riding horses and spending time with her family in the mountains. Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling and seeing new things.

She is preceded in death by her father Vince Carter and brother Vincent Carter.

Jackie leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband Jerry and her 3 children- her son Andrew Lucas, his wife Hannah and their children Adylyn and Grayson, her daughter Melissa Swinford and her youngest son Richard Swinford. She also leaves her adopting mother Mary, her birth-mother Loni, her step-father Layne Moerbe, brother Richard, sister Kara, brother Terry, sister Jessica and her husband Roger as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be held at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home in Roswell, New Mexico on January 9, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.

Hewett-Arney Funeral Home of Temple, Texas is entrusted with the preliminary arrangements.
