Letter: Will Democrats be united by a surprise entrant?

The column by Jackie Gingrich Cushman in the Jan. 4 Roswell Daily Record had an interesting postulation to determine the Democrat nominee for president. She imagines that “there is no clear winner in the Democratic primary process: the convention becomes brokered.”

She envisions that as a result, “Hillary Clinton is brought in to unite the party and run against President Trump.”

I agree that a brokered convention is a likely happening but I suggest a different “uniter.” I suggest that it is Michelle Obama who is brought forward to the adulation of all at the convention.

This way, when the presidential debates arise, anything President Trump says against Ms. Obama will be declared racist and/or anti-feminine.
