Aubrey Hobart, curator of collections and exhibits for the Roswell Museum and Art Center, provided a “delightful and informative” presentation about her role at the museum at a recent Roswell Sertoma Club meeting.

The museum has more than 8,000 works of art, and one of Hobart’s jobs is to decide what, where and how to exhibit these works.

By using digital files of all the galleries drawn to scale, she is able to arrange a particular collection in an interesting arrangement in a specific gallery. With some exceptions, each gallery changes its artist and layout every few months.

One exception is the Hurd/Wyeth gallery. In that area, specific pieces may change every few months, but those artists are always exhibited.

She presented the calendar for the exhibits in all galleries for 2020. She also said the museum needs more docents and encouraged people to volunteer.
