Joe H. Carrasco, 70, was born on April 26, 1949, in Carlsbad, NM, and died peacefully at home in Roswell, NM, on Tuesday, December 31, 2019. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with Joe’s family at www.andersonbethany.com.

SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Friday, January 10, 2020, 1:00 PM, with interment of cremains at South Park immediately following.

Joe was the eldest son of Presiliano and Julia (Hernandez) Carrasco; both parents predeceased him. Joe loved anything and everything automotive, using his enormous knowledge of auto and truck parts to build a 50-year career in parts houses, Chevrolet dealerships, and truck repair shops. He was also a highly skilled mechanic and repaired and restored many vehicles, and most fun of all drove his drag racers. Joe’s prized possession was his crowd-favorite 1977 Chevy LUV drag truck and a highlight of his racing career was winning a “Wally” trophy at the Roswell track.

On February 19, 1972, Joe married Eva, and they had two wonderful daughters, Amanda and Tammy. He and Kathy were married on May 26, 1995, and Joe helped raise his step-daughter Emily.

SURVIVORS: Surviving Joe is his wife, Kathy; daughters: Amanda (James Padilla) and Tammy (Jonathan Anderson); step-daughter, Emily (Tim Craton); grandchildren: Alexis and Miranda Carrasco, Joshwa Anderson, Madalyne Vigil, and Fiona Craton; brothers: Pete (Alice) and Lupe; along with a sister, Linda Carrasco.
