Eastern New Mexico Medical Center Auxiliary has so many volunteers that stand out day in and day out, it is so hard to pick just one. Everyone goes above and beyond to ensure the patients, families and employees at ENMMC are being greeted and served with a smile.

Anyone that knows this volunteer, knows that she is dedicated to ENMMC Auxiliary. She has stepped up in more ways than one and wears many hats. Not only is this volunteer the secretary of the Auxiliary but she also helps out in the Volunteer Services office and ensures all invoices are paid, volunteer hours are input into the computer, paperwork is filed, phones are answered, voice messages are returned — the list goes on and on.

She helps Dena Palencia out in so many ways and it is apparent when she is not in the office. Not only does she make her appearance in the Volunteer Services office but she also volunteers for the afternoon shift on Friday inside Ruth’s Gift and Coffee Shop. A couple of months ago, the gift shop was in need of a substitute on Wednesday afternoon — she stepped right up and tended to the gift shop all after her normal duties were finished in the volunteer’s office.

Another big job she has continued is ensuring the Sundries stay stocked by filling the order at Sam’s Club. She is a jack of all trades and the Auxiliary is lucky to have her. This volunteer is normally here four days out of the week — this shows her dedication to all of us.

With that being said, the ENMMC Auxiliary of the Year is awarded to the one and only Susan Arthur. She is definitely deserving of this award. Congratulations!
