Jeff Stroble

A memorial honoring fallen firefighter Jeff Stroble will be unveiled Saturday, according to a press release issued by the Roswell Fire Department.

The ceremony outside the north end of the Roswell Convention Center, 912 N. Main St., will take place at 10 a.m. at the site of other memorial markers dedicated to Chaves County law enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel who have died in the line of duty.

Stroble, 46, a fire apparatus operator with 17 years of service with RFD, was severely injured during a June 5, 2019, accidental explosion at a fireworks storage building where he and other firefighters had been preparing for a Fourth of July show.

He died from his injuries six and a half weeks later.

Funds for the Stroble memorial were generated through a fundraiser organized by the Roswell Professional Firefighters Association.
