Letter: The Silent Voice

You did not hear my voice
As I screamed for life.
You chose not to see my pain
The color of my eyes-
You did not hear my voice
When I felt the rhythm of your heart
Telling you of my love
And my fear we were to part-
You did not hear my voice
When I heard from deep within
Words, angry words
My life was to end-
You did not hear my cry
Or see the dimple in my chin.
You heard not my sweet gentle voice
You chose to let me die-
Why, why?!
My voice falls silent.

—Dedicated to the 60,000,000 babies whose voices are silent. May these words speak for them.
