Burglar ‘sneaks’ off with jackhammer, laptop and more

The following public records are from the Roswell Police Department and can be viewed at rpdp2c.org. All people arrested or cited are presumed innocent.

An officer was dispatched to the 700 block of North Greenwood Avenue Feb. 10 at 8:49 p.m. in reference to a burglary. A Bauer jackhammer, a Ryobi backpack blower, an Asus laptop and a pair of Nike Air Max sneakers with a combined value of $1,930 were reported stolen.

Arrests/arrest citations

Ricardo Chavez Alaniz was charged with aggravated driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs Feb. 8 at 2:39 a.m. in the 4500 block of North Main Street.

Cedric Nathaniel Kivett was charged with robbery Feb. 12 at 10 a.m. in the 600 block of South Main Street.

Ricardo Chavez Alaniz was charged with indecent exposure Feb. 12 at 4:40 p.m. in the 2000 block of North Main Street.

Angelica Hernandez was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs Feb. 13 at 12:08 a.m. in the 1200 block of West McGaffey Street.

Arson/criminal damage

Police responded Feb. 7 at 5:54 p.m. to a report of criminal damage in the 700 block of East Mescalero Road. A rear windshield valued at $414.41 was reported damaged on a 2020 Kia.

Police responded to a call in the 400 block of West Hendricks Street Feb. 9 at 5:11 p.m. in reference to criminal damage. A shed dented by thrown rocks sustained $200 in damage.

An officer responded Feb. 9 at 8:45 p.m. to a report of criminal damage in the 600 block of South Kentucky Avenue. A fence valued at $200 was spray-painted with graffiti.

An officer responded to a call Feb. 9 at 3 a.m. in the 1500 block of Madison Avenue in reference to a domestic disturbance. A rear windshield valued at $300 on a 2017 Kia Optimum was reported damaged.

Larceny/theft

Police were dispatched to the 1900 block of South Adams Drive Feb. 13 at 6:05 a.m. in reference to a stolen vehicle. A silver 2014 Nissan Rogue was reported stolen.

An officer was dispatched Feb. 7 at 3:53 p.m. to the 1100 block of North Main Street in reference to a larceny shoplifting. A Bombay Sapphire valued at $3,126 was reported stolen.

An officer responded to a call from the 2800 block of North Main Street Feb. 8 at 7:32 a.m. about a shoplifting. Two bottles of liquor with a combined value of $108 were reported stolen.

Police were dispatched Feb. 8 at 9:40 a.m. to the 200 block of West Third Street in reference to a non-forced burglary. Hair coloring, nail polish a and a nail drill with a combined value of $550 were reported stolen.

Police were dispatched to the 2400 block of South Sunset Avenue Feb. 8 at 2:02 p.m. in reference to a burglary. An Apple Macbook valued at $800 was reported stolen from a 2007 Toyota Corolla.

Police responded to a call Feb. 9 at 9:55 a.m. in the 600 block of West Gayle Drive in reference to a vehicle burglary. A Glock 22 handgun, a Glock 22 magazine and a Straight Talk phone card with a combined value of $675 were reported stolen.

Police responded Feb. 9 at 9:57 a.m. to a vehicle burglary in the 1000 block of North Lea Avenue. A passenger window valued at $100 on a 2016 Ford van was reported damaged, and a Ryobi drill set valued at $189 was reported stolen.

Police responded to a call in the 800 block of North Lea Street Feb. 10 at 6:38 a.m. in response to a vehicle burglary of a Dodge Challenger. A leather jacket, a Springfield Hellcat 9mm handgun and a PT92 magazine with a combined value of $700 were reported stolen. A passenger window valued at $500 was reported damaged.

An officer was dispatched to the 300 block of North Atkinson Avenue Feb. 10 at 8:31 a.m. in reference to a stolen vehicle. A 2014 Yama R6 was reported stolen.

An officer responded to a call Feb. 10 at 10 a.m. in the 1200 block of West Third Street in reference to a vehicle burglary. A Husky toolbox and a Ryobi drill with a combined value of $480 were reported stolen.

Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Ash Avenue Feb. 10 at 11:52 a.m. in reference to a larceny. A gold Rolodex watch, blank checks, cash and five women’s Amethyst rings with a combined value of $1,281 were reported stolen.

Police responded to the 1900 block of West First Street Feb. 10 at 6:59 p.m. in reference to a larceny. A refrigerator valued at $500 was reported stolen.

Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of South Pennsylvania Avenue Feb. 11 at 9:04 a.m. in reference to a vehicle burglary. A firearm valued at $800 was reported stolen.

An officer responded to a call in the 600 block of West Second Street Feb. 11 at 10:29 a.m. in reference to a stolen vehicle. A red trailer valued at $7,500 was reported stolen.

Police responded to a call in the zero block of West Wells Street Feb. 11 at 3:39 p.m. in reference to a shooting at a dwelling, occupied building or from a motor vehicle.

Police were dispatched to the 1900 block of South Adams Drive Feb. 13 at 6:05 a.m. in reference to a stolen vehicle. A silver 2014 Nissan Rogue was reported stolen.

An officer was dispatched to the 1400 block of West Second Street Feb. 13 at 11:07 a.m. in reference to a burglary. Two credit cards, a Cooler Master computer tower, tools, a computer case, a personal checkbook, a television, a Verizon cellphone, a computer monitor and a bag with miscellaneous tools, all with a combined value of $4,111 were reported stolen.

An officer responded to a call Feb. 13 at 6:17 p.m. in the 900 block of West Second Street in reference to shoplifting. Alcohol, general merchandise and groceries with a combined value of $255.14 were reported stolen.
