Alton Otto Grill was born November 8, 1920 in Laona County of Roosevelt, Minnesota. He was called home to be with the Lord on February 4, 2020.
Alton graduated Roosevelt High School in 1937. Shortly after, he started the rugged job of a pulp wood truck driver in Oregon.
Alton married the absolute love of his life Fern Gunder on February 18, 1940. He then joined the Navy during World War 2 and served our country on a Destroyer Vessel Markette in the South Pacific Ocean. After returning from the war, Alton moved his family to Wyandotte, Michigan and continued his career as a professional truck driver for Oil Refinery company until retirement. Alton loved the lord and he loved his family with all his heart.
Alton is preceded in death by his wife, Fern Genovieve Grill, Father Otto Grill, Mother Esther Grill, Son Steven Elton Grill, Son Randall Wayne Grill, Daughter-in-law Sara Grill and his Sister Donna Freisner.
He is survived by Brothers Lloyd Grill, Floyd Grill, Sisters Leona Hammond, Louis Kittle, Bernice Albright, Granddaughter Saundra McGough, Grandsons Steven Mark Grill, David Randall Grill, and Great Grandchildren Steven Matthew Grill, Steven Joseph McGough, Jordan Reimers, Amber Greenwade, Derek Grill, Sharina Grill, Danielle Grill, Stacey Grill, Christopher Grill, David Alton John Grill, Liam Grill, Kayleigh Grill and Bailey Grill.
Services will be held at South Park Cemetery on February 22, 2020 at 1pm. Flowers may be delivered to Anderson Bethany Funeral Home.
