Police seek identity of counterfeit money suspect

Roswell police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a woman who allegedly used two counterfeit $100 bills at two stores within the city.

The unidentified woman was caught on surveillance video Sunday, Feb. 16 at Big 5 Sporting Goods on North Main Street using two counterfeit $100 bills, according to a press release issued Thursday by the Roswell Police Department.

A short time later, the same woman unsuccessfully attempted to make a purchase at West Lake Ace Hardware on North Main Street using a counterfeit $50 bill, according to the release.

Both incidents occurred Sunday between 2 and 3 p.m.

People with information that could possibly identify the suspect are asked to contact the Roswell Police Department at 575-624-6770.
