DAVID KIRK THURMAN, 56, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020, in Roswell, New Mexico. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with David’s family at www.andersonbethany.com.

SERVICES: A Memorial Service will be held at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 115 W 11th Street, Roswell, New Mexico, on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at 10:00 AM.

On September 2, 1963, David was born to Glendel and Clara Louise Thurman in Butler, Missouri. He graduated from Roswell High School on May 27, 1982. David continued his education at Eastern New Mexico University of Roswell and received an Associates in Criminal Justice on May 9, 2008. He obtained his Bachelor of Science, majoring in Criminal Justice at Eastern New Mexico University-Portales on May 10, 2008. He worked for the Peak Treatment Foster Care as a Treatment Coordinator in Roswell, New Mexico.

David loved riding his motorcycle with his wife, Esabel, going to the 4B Wildwest Bike Rally and listening to his old Country Music. He enjoyed watching football and baseball games,. His favorite teams were the Kansas City Chiefs/Kansas City Royals and “any team playing against the Dallas Cowboys.” He was a supporter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

The most memorable moments David treasured were spending time with his grandkids and family; he loved them dearly. He was a kind and loving person who will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

SURVIVORS: Those left to cherish memories of David are his loving wife of almost twenty-four years, Esabel Thurman; children: Christina and TJ Frederick of Albuquerque, Elizabeth and Derrick Heady, Ashley and Britney Thurman, and Randy Bailey of Roswell; grandchildren: Grayson, Hayden, and Ian Frederick, Nickolas, Meghan, Lindsey, and Jace Heady, Destani, Faith, and David G. Thurman, Brayden and Maci Tyler; siblings: Linda and Tony Sanchez of Texas, Tim Thurman of West Virginia, Anita and Steve Lidy of Roswell, Becky and Joe Winkler of Texas, Pam and Richard Cibak of Roswell; uncles and aunts: Wayne and Juanita Sullins, Ken and Esther Thurman; twenty-two nieces; twenty-six nephews; close friends: Hilda Quiroz, Darrel Graveline, Staff at the Peak Treatment Foster Care, Raymond Santillan, Alex De Leon; precious pet, Cole; and many other numerous family, friends, co-workers, and neighborhood friends.

PRECEDED: David was preceded in death by his parents, Glendel and Clara Louise Thurman; mother-in-law, Geneva Sotelo; and his grandparents: Ervin and Ruby Sullins, and Bryan and Bertha Thurman.

David’s family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Kappa Sigma Fraternity-Theta-Zeta-ENMU, Allstate Security, Pack Riding Club, Sanders Law Firm, Barbara Patterson, Audrey Delahosse, Lindsey Downs, CSED, Juanita Zuniga, and the entire Peak family.

HONORARY PALLBEARER: Blessed to serve as Honorary Pallbearers are Grayson Frederick, Ian Frederick, Hayden Fredrick, Nickolas Heady, and Brayden Tyler.

PALLBEARERS: Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Pack Riding Club, Randy Bailey (son), Derrick Heady, and T.J. Frederick.
