$1,100 in handguns stolen from truck on West Summit

The following public records are from the Roswell Police Department and can be viewed at rpdp2c.org. All people arrested or cited are presumed innocent.

Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of West Summit Street Feb. 27 at 7:17 a.m. in reference to a vehicle burglary of a Ford F-150. A Glock handgun valued at $650 and an M&P Shield handgun valued at $450 were reported stolen.

Arrests/arrest citations

Joseph Chavez was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs Feb. 22 at 3:05 p.m. in the 100 block of West Albuquerque Street.

Fransisco J. Cruz-Chavez was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs Feb. 24 at 10:50 p.m. in the 400 block of West Poe Street.

Salina Jeanette Luna was charged with the unlawful taking of a motor vehicle Feb. 25 at 4:18 p.m. in the 1700 block of South Sunset Avenue.

Ricky Linares was charged with aggravated driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs Feb. 27 at 10:31 p.m. in the 1200 block of West Albuquerque Street.

Arson/criminal damage

An officer responded to a call in the 300 block of West Linda Vista Boulevard Feb. 22 at 10:57 a.m. in reference to criminal damage. A passenger window valued at $150 on a 2004 Chevy was reported damaged.

Police responded to a call in the 100 block of East Country Club Road Feb. 24 at 7:35 a.m. in reference to criminal damage. A storage lock mechanism valued at $1,075 and a fence valued at $400 were both reported damaged.

An officer was dispatched Feb. 26 at 4:03 a.m. to the 1800 block of North Kansas Avenue in reference to a burglary in progress. A window valued at $100 was reported damaged.

Larceny/theft

An officer responded to the 300 block of South Missouri Avenue Feb. 23 at 6:07 p.m. in reference to a firearm stolen during a burglary of a vehicle. A Taurus 9mm valued at $100 was reported stolen.

Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of North Main Street Feb. 23 at 11:21 a.m. in reference to a larceny. A Blue Rhino propane tank valued at $199.96 was reported stolen.

An officer responded to an unlawful taking of a motor vehicle in the area of South Main and Walnut Streets Feb. 23 at 3:32 a.m. A 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer was reported stolen.

Police responded to the 1200 block of Hall Drive Feb. 23 at 3:35 p.m. in reference to a vehicle burglary of a 2004 Ford pickup truck. An ignition valued at $1,000 and a Ford F-150 owner’s manual valued at $10 were reported stolen.

An officer was dispatched to the 3000 block of South Louisiana Avenue Feb. 23 at 10:21 p.m. in reference to the burglary of a 2016 Chrysler. A clear bag containing tax documents, a brown purse valued at $30 and $1,000 in cash enclosed in a Wells Fargo envelope were reported stolen.

Police responded to a walk-in at the Roswell Police Department Feb. 24 at 12:11 p.m. in reference to a vehicle burglary of a 2018 Toyota that occurred in the 600 block of East Fifth Street. A Springfield XD40 firearm valued at $550 and a broken cellphone were reported stolen.

Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of South Sunset Avenue Feb. 25 at 3:14 p.m. in reference to the unlawful taking of a white 1999 Honda that occurred in the 600 block of East Van Buren Street. A purse with personal items valued at $1 was also reported stolen.

Police were dispatched to the 200 block of South Virginia Avenue Feb. 26 at 11:48 a.m. in reference to the unlawful taking of a motor vehicle.

An officer was dispatched to the 1600 block of South Sunset Avenue Feb. 27 at 6:16 a.m. in reference to a burglary forced entry. A tiller, a bag of tools and a heater, with a combined value of $2,610, were reported stolen.

An officer was dispatched Feb. 27 at 12:45 p.m. to the 2800 block of South Emerald Drive in reference to an attempted residential burglary. A door valued at $200 was reported stolen.
