Letter: Voter turnout was a disappointment

My family and I have been active in Roswell since 1974, and we appreciate all the fine things offered in this fair city. However, after the recent city elections, I became more convinced, than ever, that there should be a limit to terms of office.

A very intelligent young woman, and very well-informed on city matters, lost by a small margin to a councilor who has completed eight years on the council. Cristina Arnold’s enthusiasm, energy and fresh ideas would have truly benefited the citizens of Roswell.

I am disappointed in the low turnout of voters; approximately one quarter of 20,000 registered voters participated in the election process.

Hopefully, more people will become active and better informed about the importance of knowing what is happening in our city.
