Roswell Museum and Art Center events

According to the spokesperson of the Roswell Museum and Arts Center, Wendy Cook, the documentary film “Wonder Women” that was scheduled for today, March 13, and  Pop-up Playdate on March 14 have been canceled to be rescheduled at a later date (TBA.) Spring Break Art and Space Camps at the Museum are canceled due to low registration. For more information, call 575-624-6744.

United Way of Chaves County fundraiser canceled

United Way of Chaves County announced that its Get Lucky Chaves County fundraiser, which was scheduled for March 14, is postponed due to the Public Health Order limiting mass gatherings. For more information, call 575-622-4150.

Pancake breakfast fundraiser canceled

The Salvation Army Roswell Pancake breakfast monthly fundraiser has been canceled for March; later dates are pending depending on the news about the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). For more information, call 575-622-8700.

Central Valley Electric Cooperative meeting canceled

Pursuant to Public Health Emergency Order to limit mass gatherings due to coronavirus (COVID-19), the Central Valley Electric Cooperative Inc. annual meeting, scheduled for March 14 is canceled, until such time as a special meeting will be allowed by law. Hats for Health event canceled

Lovelace Hospital’s Hats for Health event on March 26 at the Hi-Q Venue has been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.

According to the marketing representative for Lovelace Health System, vice president Serena Pettes, the decision to postpone the event to a later date was announced on March 11.

“The safety of our community is among our very highest priorities,” the press release stated. Those who were invited will receive separate notifications.

NMMI Open House canceled

Given the current status of the COVID-19 and with an abundance of concern and caution for our visitors’ health and well-being, NMMI — for precautionary purposes, will be canceling the Open House scheduled on March 28. We apologize for any inconveniences that this may have caused. NMMI takes the safety and security of all our cadets with the utmost seriousness. We do still plan on having the April 25 Open House and hope to see everyone there.
