Pecos Valley Regional Communications center board meeting canceled

The Pecos Valley Regional Communication Center board meeting on April 1 at the Chaves County Administration Building has been canceled.

Home Garden Club meeting canceled

The District 5 meeting hosted by the Home Garden Club on March 19 at the Elks Lodge has been canceled.

Senior Circle closed

Senior Circle at 2801 N. Main St., Suite D, will be closed until further notice. A social, recreational and gathering place for people 50 and older, it is run by Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. A notice on the center’s door indicated that the closure was intended to reduce the “exposure to infectious and communicable diseases to help stop the advance of COVID-19.”

RCLT Play ‘Francine’s Will’ postponed

The premiere on March 27 of Roswell Community Little Theatre’s production of “Francine’s Will” is postponed until the last two weekends of April, depending on development of the COVID-19 pandemic. For more information, visit roswelltheatre.com, its Facebook page, or call 575-622-1982.

WWOB Musical ‘Matilda’ postponed

The premiere of Way Way Off-Broadway Theatre Company’s production of “Matilda the Musical” at Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell Performing Arts Center has been postponed due to public health concerns related to COVID-19. If you have already purchased tickets to “Matilda,” you may contact the company by email at tony214@dfn.com or by phone at 575-317-0157 to reschedule or request a refund.

RMAC events canceled or postponed

The following events at the Roswell Museum and Art Center have been canceled or postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic: March 26, Make and Mingle (re-scheduled for June 25); March 27, RAiR artist Tonee Harbert’s opening reception will now be a closing reception on May 1; March 29, Sharbani Das Gupta’s In/Sight closing reception is canceled. A determination has not been made on the April 17 pARTy After Hours and May 7 Family After Hours.

City of Roswell closures

The Roswell Adult Center and the Roswell Visitors Center are temporarily closed to the public. The closures are expected to remain in place through April 9, the same period through which a New Mexico Department of Health order banning large social gatherings is in effect.

Star Party canceled

The Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge presentation about the James Webb Space Telescope and its Star Party on March 21 have been canceled. For more information, call Peggy Bohlin at 575-420-9955.

Vietnam War Veterans Day event canceled
