Members of the public who think they have symptoms related to the COVID-19 disease caused by the new coronavirus strain can be screened for a free test today at the Wool Bowl from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Wool Bowl is located on North Grand Avenue between East 19th Street and East College Boulevard.
The drive-through screening and test clinic is being coordinated by the Southeast Region offices of the New Mexico Department of Health. Other local entities and agencies expected to assist include the city of Roswell, Eastern New Mexico Medical Center and the National Guard.
Jimmy Masters, health promotion program manager, has said that only those exhibiting symptoms will be screened to see if they should receive the tests. The most common symptoms, according to the Health Department website, are a dry cough, a fever and difficulty breathing.
