COVID-19 cases in NM now at 624; 1 new death reported

New Mexico health officials on Sunday announced 81 new positive test results for COVID-19 in the state, bringing the number of reported cases to 624.

No new positive tests were reported in Chaves County, where the number of cases stands at 13.

The most recent cases, according to the New Mexico Department of Health, are 21 new cases in Bernalillo County, two new cases in Cibola County, six new cases in Doña Ana County, one new case in Los Alamos County, nine new cases in McKinley County, one new case in Otero County, 34 new cases in Sandoval County, four new cases in Santa Fe County, one new case in Socorro County, and two new cases in Valencia County.

The Department of Health also reported one additional death related to COVID-19, a man in his 40s in McKinley County who died April 5.

The man had underlying chronic medical conditions, according to a press release from the Department of Health.
