The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) announced this week one-time grants in the amount of $750 available to self-employed workers affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Self-Employed Stimulus Payment (SESP) is available to the first 2,000 applicants that qualify, according to a press release issued by the Department.

A separate press release stated that due to technical issues the link for SESP was removed from the Department’s website, but it was expected to be reposted April 9.

Once reposted, it “will be announced on social media and also on the website,” according to a notice on the Department’s website, www.jobs.state.nm.us.

Examples of people who can apply include musicians and artists with canceled shows, contract massage therapists at health spas, food truck operators, Uber/Lyft drivers, and sound technicians at convention centers paid by the job.

Applicants were initially directed to apply by creating an individual account and logging into www.jobs.state.nm.us and clicking on the link for SESP located on their My Workforce Connection page.
