EDWARD ALLEN PATTERSON was born on March 16, 1939 in Roswell, New Mexico to Murrell and Fedalina Patterson. He passed away on Wednesday morning May 13, 2020 in Albuquerque, New Mexico after a long battle with cancer. He was holding his granddaughter’s hand and was surrounded by his loved ones.

Edward, known as Ed or Eddi was a long time and proud resident of Roswell. He proudly served his country through his military service in the Army National Guard. In his later years you could find him setting up shop at the local Farmers Market (if you have ever seen a gourde alien on a stagecoach then you’ve probably seen his work). Eddie was an eccentric entrepreneur, avid crafter, artist, enthusiastic fisherman and bird watcher. Eddie had a mischievous sense of humor and loved spending time at the horse races where he always missed it by “just this much”. He loved spending time with his friends and was a dedicated member of the Eagles Club where he would spend days sharing stories with his friends.

Preceding him in death are his father Murrell and mother Fedalina, brother Tommy Patterson and sister Patsy.

Left to cherish his memories are his only surviving sister Mary Lou Ormseth of Roswell; his children, Donna (Craig) Orraj of California, Rhonda Schultz of Albuquerque, Jennifer (Scott) Esposito of Nicaragua, Rebecca (Kyle) Bond of Moriarty, and Mitch (Carey) Patterson of Albuquerque. His grandchildren, Sydney (JT) Headly, Dylan Orraj, Tawni Wike, Sara Schultz, Jordan, Josh, Hannah, and Journey Esposito, Kade, Konner and Sage Bond, Anthony (Jazmyne) Montana, Christian (Kayla) Patterson and six great grandchildren; Parker and Rylie Spofford, Bella Bermudez, Jianna, Mia and Mason Montana. He will also be missed by his remaining cousins and his many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, and multitude of lifelong friends

A Memorial service will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home Thursday, May 21, 2020 at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at General Douglas McBride Veterans Cemetery.

Eddie’s tribute was lovingly written by his family and loved ones.
