New Mexico state health officials on Sunday announced 149 additional positive test results for COVID-19, including three new confirmed cases in Chaves County.
Sunday’s report brings the state’s total number of positive tests for the virus to 6,943, according to a press release issued by the state Department of Health.
Chaves County’s total number of confirmed cases now stands at 39.
New Mexico also reported on Sunday nine additional deaths related to COVID-19: six in McKinley County and three in San Juan County.
The number of deaths of New Mexico residents related to the virus is now 317.
On Sunday there were 213 people hospitalized for COVID-19 in the state; 2,464 COVID-19 cases had been designated by the Department of Health as having recovered.
Those who report COVID-19 symptoms — such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, loss of taste or smell — should call their health care provider or the state COVID-19 hotline at 1-855-600-3453, the press release states.
