A local woman died Saturday from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident southwest of Roswell.
Jane T. Bullock, 57, of Roswell was pronounced dead by the Office of the Medical Investigator Saturday following the collision that occurred at about 1:45 p.m. at the intersection of the Relief Route and Sunset Avenue, according to a press release from New Mexico State Police.
Initial findings of the investigation indicate Bullock was traveling north on Sunset Avenue in a 2004 Chevrolet Impala, when for unknown reasons a 2017 Toyota Tundra traveling east on the Relief Route ran a stop sign at the intersection and collided with the Impala.
The driver of the Tundra — a 51-year-old woman from Tularosa, New Mexico— sustained unknown injuries and refused medical care from emergency medical personnel at the scene.
Investigation into the accident is being conducted by State Police with assistance from the State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit and Drone Team.
According to the press release, alcohol does not appear to have been a factor and seatbelts were properly utilized. Charges could be pending against the driver of the Tundra based on the outcome of the investigation into the crash.
