No new COVID-19 deaths reported in NM Monday

Chaves County COVID-19 cases increased by two on Monday and the state reported no new deaths related to the disease.

Monday’s update from the New Mexico Department of Health announced 128 total additional cases statewide. The number of New Mexico deaths remains at 469.

The state’s total number of cases is now at 10,694. That number has been corrected as data continues to be evaluated. Previously reported numbers did not include one case thought to be an out-of-state resident who was determined to be a Bernalillo County resident.

Additionally, nine cases reported among people held by federal agencies at the Otero County Prison Facility were corrected to be reported among New Mexico Corrections Department inmates at the Otero County Prison Facility, according to the report.

Northwest counties continue to be the state’s hot spot for new cases with 32 in McKinley County, 22 in Bernalillo County and 11 in San Juan County.

As of Monday, 4,742 cases statewide have been designated as recovered. Thirty-three of Chaves County’s total 64 cases are designated as recovered.

Currently, 139 people are hospitalized in New Mexico.

The total number of tests conducted statewide is 298,076 wit 5,380 of those in Chaves County.
