Man sought in fatal shooting of his brother

Roswell Police are searching for a man accused of fatally shooting his older brother Wednesday morning and are asking the public for any information about the suspect’s location.

Investigators believe Alberto Ceballos, 34, shot his brother Omar Ceballos, 40, at the victim’s 200 block of South Atkinson Avenue residence, where the suspect also occasionally lived, according to a press release.

Individuals with information are asked to call the Roswell Police Department at 575-624-6770.

Police were dispatched to the address at 2:10 a.m. when the mother of the two men called to report Omar Ceballos had been shot. When medics arrived at the scene they pronounced Omar Ceballos, who had multiple gunshot wounds, dead inside the house.

Alberto Cellabos is 5 feet 7 inches tall and 165 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, according to the release. He also has tattoos on his neck, arms, chest, stomach and back.

The release states he is currently out of jail on conditions of release on previous charges of Driving While Intoxicated and unlawful taking of a motor vehicle.
