An arrest warrant has been issued by Roswell police for a man sought in connection with an early Wednesday morning fatal shooting.

Alberto Ceballos, 34, faces one count each of first-degree murder and felon in possession of a firearm, according to a press release Thursday from the Roswell Police Department. Todd Wildermuth, public information officer with the department, confirmed that the suspect remains at large.

Roswell Police on Wednesday requested the public’s help in locating Ceballos following the fatal shooting of his older brother Omar Ceballos, 40, at the victim’s 200 block of South Atkinson Avenue address.

Police were dispatched to the area at 2:10 a.m. Wednesday after the mother of both men reported that Omar Ceballos was shot multiple times. Medics pronounced Omar Ceballos dead inside the house.

According to the release, Alberto Ceballos at the time was out of jail on conditions of release on charges of driving while intoxicated and unlawful theft of a motor vehicle.
