A shoplifter was hit by a vehicle as he exited a Roswell convenience store while attempting to flee with a case of beer he did not pay for.

The incident occurred early on the morning of June 29 in the 1600 block of Southeast Main Street, according to an incident report filed by the Roswell Police Department.

Police were dispatched to the store at 1:24 a.m. after a store employee reported a man had run out of the store with a 12-pack of beer that he did not purchase and was subsequently struck by a blue minivan.

The man left behind the damaged 12-pack, which was valued at $13.99, and climbed into the vehicle that had just struck him. The vehicle then left the scene heading westbound on Hobbs Street.

A store employee, according to the report, said the man comes into the store frequently and is bald with medium build and tattoos on his eyelids. The man was wearing a bright yellow shirt and blue jeans.
