The City of Roswell this week continues its series of virtual public forums in an effort to help keep citizens and the city administration connected amid limitations on in-person gatherings.

Using the online service GoToMeeting, the city will hold its second virtual public forum Thursday, July 16 at 5:30 p.m. This forum will focus on “Citizen Advisory Boards, Commissions and Committees.”

These panels offer citizens a way to serve the community by taking on a role that has a direct impact on decisions made in city government.

In preparation for the forum, citizens are asked to submit questions and discussion priorities online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/publicforum2020july.

Citizens can connect to Thursday’s virtual forum at https://global.gotomeeting.com/join/138486781 by using access code 138-486-781. People can also call into the forum by phone at 872-240-3311.

Additional virtual forums are planned on the third Thursday of each month through October. The schedule of forums can be viewed on the city website, roswell-nm.gov, by going to the Administration page and selecting the City Manager page.

The GoToMeeting web link and access code citizens will use to join each forum will be posted on that page, as well as on the city’s Facebook page, prior to each forum.

Future forum topics will include the air center’s role in economic development, as well as two “open-topic” forums focused on specific wards within the city. The forums will be hosted by City Manager Joe Neeb.
