Roswell police are asking the public for information on finding several military keepsakes reported stolen from the family of a deceased war veteran.

A black velvet bag containing challenge coins from different military units, multiple patches and flags, a bag containing the military uniform of the veteran and a Bible containing personal letters were among the items reported stolen from the residence, according to a press release from the Roswell Police Department.

The items belonged to the family of a military veteran killed in action while deployed in Afghanistan. The burglary is believed to have occurred sometime between July 8 and 10 when the family was not home.

According to a police report, officers responded July 10 at about 9:10 p.m. to a burglary call at a 1500 block of Pecos Avenue home in southwest Roswell, where the incident occurred.

A 43-inch TV valued at $500, a Bass speaker valued at $400 and a Yamaha keyboard worth $400 were also reported stolen from the residence.
