Police are asking the public for any information they might have about a Tuesday evening hit and run accident that left a 2-year-old boy injured.

The accident occurred at 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Greenwood Avenue and Cherry Street, according to a press release issued Thursday by the Roswell Police Department.

The injured boy was transported to a local hospital before being taken to a hospital in Lubbock where he remains in the intensive care unit.

According to the press release, the boy was outside with his two brothers when the 2-year-old was struck by what his brothers described as a white car.

After the boy was struck by the car, a man exited the vehicle, picked up the boy and took him to a nearby house, where the boy’s mother was at the time, the press release states.
