Santiago Jimmy Pargas

Our beloved father, grandfather and friend, Santiago “Jimmy” Pargas, 86, of Roswell, New Mexico left this earth on Sunday, July 12, 2020 in Ruidoso, New Mexico.

Jimmy was born on November 28th 1933 in D’Hanis Texas to Sixto and Telesfora (Acuna) Pargas. He attended D’Hanis Catholic school and later moved to Hagerman, New Mexico where he met and married Lollie Urban in 1954 later raising three children in Roswell, NM. Jimmy served the Pecos Valley Housing Authorities at the Roswell Industrial Air Center as their most knowledgeable plumber for many years before retiring. Jimmy was quick with a smile and a helping hand. He was an expert handyman who could fix practically anything and knew almost everyone around town. He enjoyed being outdoors tinkering with cars, making his yard beautiful and watching his grandchildren play ball. He never missed a game. Jimmy was no stranger to hard-work yet he could often be found “resting his eyes” while watching old cowboy movies. He had an incredible love for all things sweet and always had candy to share. Above all else Jimmy loved his family. It brought him great joy to be surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who referred to him as “Papo”. He made everyone around him laugh with his endless teasing, hilarious dance moves and great stories. Jimmy will be greatly missed by his family and friends who will never forget his legacy of kindness, generosity, love and joy.

Jimmy is survived by his sister Mary Pargas-Tovar of San Antonio, Tx, Children- Jimmy Pargas and Randall Pargas of Roswell, NM, and daughter Teresa Pargas-Williams of Ruidoso, NM along with their mother Lollie Urban of Roswell, NM. He is also survived by a very special friend, Sandee Gowell of Austin, TX along with countless relatives and friends whom he loved dearly. And his two crazy dogs.
