San Angelo – Amelia Padilla Mendoza, 89, of Pampa, TX, residing in San Angelo TX, passed away on Friday July 24, 2020 from complicated health issues.

Amelia was born and raised in Dexter, NM to George ‘Choche’ and Dominga Mendoza on February 28, 1931. She lived in Pampa TX for several years and just recently moved to San Angelo TX during the year of 2017.

She was a homemaker, very crafty and was always busy creating ways to improve her home. She loved being outdoors, camping, fishing and cooking. If she knew someone was coming to visit, she would cook for an army or just cook and take food to family and friends. She always had something sweet for the little ones (nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-great grandchildren). She was also known as the garage sale “Queen” of Pampa, she loved going to the garage sales.

Amelia is survived by her eight children and their families: Eloy Ramirez of Albuquerque, NM; Elidia ‘Sissy’ Villarreal of Pampa, TX; Leroy Ramirez of Las Vegas, NV; Diana Sanchez of Union City, CA; Lorena Camacho of San Angelo, TX; Larry Zamora of Wheeler, TX; Melissa Cunningham of Muskogee, OK, and Christina Clark of Richmond, VA. She also has 21 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is also survived by brother-Benny Mendoza from Carlsbad, NM.

Amelia was preceded in death by her parents, George ‘Choche’ and Dominga Padilla Mendoza and her brother, Joe Mendoza.
