A business development conference primarily for Latina women that started in Roswell five years ago will occur as a video conference this year, giving an opportunity for an expanded audience.

WESST, a statewide small business consulting firm with an office in Roswell, is hosting the Go! Latinas Conference.

Formerly known as the Women’s Economic Self-Sufficiency Team, WESST is affiliated with the U.S. Small Business Administration, and it seeks to provide training, technical assistance and information on funding opportunities primarily to women, minorities and low-income individuals as they build their own business enterprises.

The conference is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 22, from 9 a.m. to noon. There is no cost, but registration is required and can be completed on the WESST website, www.wesst.org.

The speakers at the event are expected to be Kim Ortiz and Susana Arvizu of Hobbs and Jennifer Moreno of Roswell.
