There will be some traffic lane closures Aug. 10-19 on portions of North Union Avenue and West Country Club Road to accommodate work that will expand fiber-optic infrastructure, according to a press release issued by the city of Roswell.

The project being carried out by Plateau Communications will begin Monday, Aug. 10, on North Union Avenue. The work will take place between West 19th Street and West Country Club Road. That portion of the project is expected to be completed by Wednesday, Aug. 12.

During the work, some sections of the outside lanes of traffic, as well as some portions of sidewalks, will be closed at various times. At least one lane of traffic in each direction will remain open throughout the work, according to the press release.

The second phase of the project is planned for Aug. 12-19 and will take place on West Country Club Road between North Union/Montana Avenue and Washington Avenue. The eastbound outside lane of traffic will be closed at times during this work, but at least one eastbound lane will remain open.

Traffic in the westbound lanes is not expected to be impacted. Some sections of sidewalks may be closed.
