Roswell Rotary Club experienced a unique officer change-over ceremony this year. The gavel was passed through a Zoom meeting from Cindy Torrez to Willis Scharmer.

As club president, Torrez was preparing to host the club’s 100th anniversary in May 2020, which will now be turned into a 101st party sometime in the future.

Scharmer has been a member of Roswell Rotary Club for over 25 years and hopes to be around in another 25 when the club opens the time capsule that was buried in September 2019 with mementos of the club’s 100-year history.

Members are trying to remain active by working on the current Habitat for Humanity house, placing various signs around Roswell, and planning a local playground upgrade, while waiting for the right time to continue planning the club’s grand celebration.
