Roswell police are looking for clues that could lead to the identification and location of a man suspected of driving a pickup truck that allegedly struck a pedestrian before leaving the scene.

A surveillance camera captured an image of the suspected driver before the accident, a man with a beard wearing a baseball cap. It is believed he was driving a white Chevrolet 4×4 pickup with an extended cab, according to police. (Submitted Photo)

The accident happened Aug. 6 at about 9:15 p.m. near the intersection of North Ohio Avenue and West Second Street, according to a press release issued Thursday by the Roswell Police Department.

Following the accident, the pedestrian — described in the release as an older man — was taken to a hospital where he received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. He has since been released from the hospital.

Footage from a surveillance camera at a nearby business captured an image of the suspected driver right before the accident — a man with a beard wearing a baseball cap. The pickup he was driving, the press release states, is believed to be a white Chevrolet 4×4 pickup with an extended cab.

Individuals with possible information in the case are encouraged to contact the Traffic Division of the RPD at 575-624-6770.
