An Albuquerque man was struck by a vehicle allegedly driven by his girlfriend, according to Todd Wildermuth, public information officer for the Roswell Police Department.

The 46-year-old man was transported by ambulance to a hospital where he was treated for an injured ankle, Wildermuth said Friday.

Police have since obtained an arrest warrant for the vehicle’s driver, Melissa Antencio, 33, of Albuquerque, who was reportedly the girlfriend of the man. She is charged with one count of aggravated battery of a household member and reportedly drove out of the area before police arrived, Wildermuth said.

The man is believed to have been walking on the sidewalk in the hotel parking lot while Antencio was driving beside him, when she is alleged to have sped up the vehicle, which then jumped the curb and struck her boyfriend.

Antencio then reportedly drove away before police arrived, Wildermuth said.
