Letter: Thanks for helping to recognize local leaders

On behalf of the Leadership Roswell Alumni Association, I am taking this opportunity to express our great appreciation to the Roswell Daily Record for their outstanding feature articles on the 2020 Community Leader Awards. With Editor John Dilmore’s support and Senior Reporter Lisa Dunlap’s outstanding writing they have made this year’s awards very special for the honorees, the Alumni Association and the community.

These awards began in 1999 and have continued every year so we knew we could not skip it in this pandemic year. Though we could not have a banquet to honor the selected winners, we wanted to shine a light on these outstanding citizens and thanks to the Roswell Daily Record they have been duly recognized. In addition, we wish to thank Mike Winters at 106.5 Talk Radio (Pecos Valley Broadcasting Company) for many mentions on his radio programs and excellent interviews of the honorees.

The 2021 Community Leader Awards are projected to return to the original format with nominations open early in the New Year. The Roswell Daily Record will announce the opening of the awards at that time. Anyone can nominate a worthy individual and the nominee does not have to have participated in the Leadership Roswell Classes.

Thank you RDR for your commitment to Roswell and covering this positive, good news event.
