On Monday, August 24, 2020, Angels came and escorted our mother, LORENZA MACIAS ALVAREZ, to her brand new home in Heaven to be with our Lord Jesus Christ. Please take a moment and share a fond memory or thoughtful expression of sympathy for Lorenza’s family at www.andersonbethany.com.

Our mother, Lorenza, who was 89 years young, was known to everyone by (Lencha). She was born on December 3, 1930, in Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Rafael and Julia Macias. In 1951, Lorenza met and married the love of her life, Manuel L. Alvarez. From this union, they were blessed with seven children whom she adored., four boys, and three girls: Jesus, Alejandro, Juan, Rogelio, Irma, Graciela, and Sandra. Lorenza was a sweet, kindhearted individual who worked all her life to provide for her family. She worked in restaurants as a head cook, being El Charro Café, The Line Shack, and Capital Café. Lorenza always made time to teach her children to have good morals and values, as well as to be kind and loving. She continuously encouraged her children to learn and finish school, as well as to be hard workers. Lorenza loved our Lord, Jesu Christ, very much and would pray to Him every night. She adored all her grandkids and great-grandkids very much, which were many. Mom, you were the best mother and grandmother anyone could ask for. We love you very much and will miss you.

Lorenza leaves behind her son, Jesus; two daughters: Graciela and Sandra; as well as two daughters from dad’s previous marriage, Mary Salas and Ramona Olivas; siblings: Dolores Renteria, Euladio Ruiz, Berta Ruiz, Mario Ruiz, Lettie Cotto, and Marcelo Macias; 21 grandkids; 59 great-grandkids; 9 great-great-grandkids; numerous nephews and nieces; as well as her many friends who would come by and drink coffee with her and visit, especially, Pricilla Franco and Rosa Marquez.

Mom when you arrive in Heaven you will be greeted with loving arms by dad, Manuel Alvarez; your sons and daughters: Alejandro, Juan, Rogelio, Manuel Jr., Irma, and Julia; grandsons: Ricardo Ballesteros and Joseph Elias Romero; your parents, Rafael and Julia Macias; brothers: Rafael Jr., Cleto Jr., and Alphonso; and sister, Josephina.

Blessed to serve as Pallbearers will be Damian Torrez, Jesus Alvarez II, George Molinar III, Christopher Lopez, Isaac Herrera, and Karlos Alvarez.

Chosen as Honorary Pallbearers will be Lynette Molinar, Joseph Lopez, Manuel Torrez, Jesus Alvarez Jr., Hector Alvarez, George Molinar Jr., Christopher Lopez Sr., DeAnna Herrera, Brandon Alvarez, Rogelio Alvarez, Juan Alvarez, Eric Alvarez, and ToniAnna Romo.

The family would like to give thanks to the Joy Center, Hospice, and especially to my sister, Sandra, who was there every day and night to tend to our mother during her difficult time as well as would Amber Torrez.

SERVICES: There will be a Viewing for Lorenza at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Sunday, August 30, 2020, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a Rosary at 6:00 PM. Family and friends will gather for a Mass Service at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Monday, August 31, 2020, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery.

“Madrecita, te vas y nos dejas solos, pero llegara el día que nos veremos otra vez para dale sus abrazos y sus besitos. adiós Madrecita querida.”

Lorenza’s tribute was beautifully written in her honor by her family.
