The 39th Annual Heritage Dinner, sponsored by the Historical Society for Southeast New Mexico (HSSNM), may have been the largest take-out dinner event in the history of Roswell. Held this year as a take-out event due to the pandemic, the annual dinner was held Tuesday evening. “We have sold well over 300 dinner boxes,” HSSNM Director Amy McVay Tellez said. “People are celebrating their anniversary, birthdays with us. We have one group who are celebrating all their birthdays at the same time.” McVay Tellez is seen here, next to the car in front, handing out gift bags — as well as tickets to redeem for a dinner box at the next stop, Peppers Grill & Bar. Security for the event was provided by the Chaves County Sheriff’s Office. (Christina Stock Photo)
