Jolene Louise Henington, age 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at the Beehive in Roswell, NM, where she resided. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with Jolene’s family at www.andersonbethany.com.

On November 7, 1933, Jolene was born in Breckinridge, TX, to George and Irene Beadle. She graduated from Artesia High School in 1952. Jolene received her Bachelor’s Degree in English and Psychology from ENMU-P. She obtained a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Psychology, later earning an Educational Specialist Degree to become a Certified Educational Diagnostician, all while raising her four children independently. After college, Jolene worked as a teacher, counselor, and diagnostician for the Roswell schools. Next, she went on to become the Director of Special Education for the Dexter schools. After retirement, Jolene worked as an independent diagnostician and taught Psychology at ENMU-R, making Jolene an accomplished woman in her day, which she prided herself on.

Jolene loved her family and wanted the best for each of them. She instilled the love of dancing and singing into her children and grandchildren. She was an avid sports fan and spent many hours living vicariously through her grandchildren by cheering from the stands at their ball games. Jolene loved to travel, fish, and spent lots of time at the lake with family. She taught her granddaughters that being a woman is not a limitation, not to be afraid to work hard and carve your own path in life.

Jolene was preceded in death by her parents, George and Irene Beadle; brothers: Barry and Buddy; as well as her son, Tracy.

Jolene is survived by her brother Larry, two sons, one daughter, eight grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren.
