A locally owned bakery that started in December opened for its first full weekend on Saturday in the Fiske Building at the southeast corner of North Main and Fourth streets.

Sweet Baby J’s is run by Jeri Fuller and her husband, Ron Fuller. They leased the ground floor store area of the Fiske Building in December and had planned for a big opening soon after, but the coronavirus closed them down to the public for a while. Jeri Fuller said they have stayed afloat filling custom orders for their cookies, cupcakes and other treats.

They reopened the door to their store a few weeks ago, and now intend to be open to walk-in customers every weekend.

“It has always been her dream to have her own bakery,” said Ron Fuller, adding that she chose to use the nickname her grandfather gave her for the business name.

Jeri Fuller said business was brisk Friday and Saturday, as the Labor Day weekend began and the Chile Cheese Festival was underway across the street.
