Judy McKay Hunt

Judy McKay Hunt left this earth and met Jesus the evening of September 2, 2020. Judy lived a fulfilling 73 years of life and passed away in Roswell, where she lived for the past 15 years. Judy attended Roswell Schools in her adolescence.

Judy was born in Kilgore, Texas on December 2, 1946. She is preceded by her mother and father Chester L and Louise M McKay and her nephew Jared Tucker from Roswell, NM. She is survived by her brother Jimmy McKay and his wife Sharon of Midland,TX. Nephew Jimmy L McKay II of Breckenridge, TX, niece Stephine M Greeson of San Antonio, TX. Judy had many others in her life that loved her dearly including her husband Dave Hunt, her sister type best friend Della Tucker and husband Jim Tucker. Her nephew and niece, James Tucker and Jennifer Wimberly. Great nephews and nieces Katelynne Tucker, Julian Espinoza, Michael Tucker, Haylee McKenna, Adrian Espinoza, Josiah Allrunner and Annabelle Wimberly. Judy is also survived by her dear friend Carol Kisselberg Massey and her family.

Judy lived most of her life in Roswell, NM. She did however get to experience other locations around the nation. Her favorite place she lived was Northglenn, CO where she traveled to the Rocky Mountains often to enjoy the beautiful scenery and to observe the elk she adored so much. Other places she lived were Brighton, CO, West Memphis, ARK and Hobbs, NM.

In Judy’s earlier life she worked as a certified nursing assistant and absolutely loved every patient she cared for. Judy also obtained an associate of arts degree from Pecos Valley Christian College. Judy worked at St. Mary’s Hospital, NMMC, and all three nursing homes in Roswell. She also took care of patients in her home as well. Judy enjoyed traveling and collecting pandas. She was an avid book reader and movie watcher until she lost her eyesight, but she still listened to books on audio and listened to her movies. Deep down she was a hopeful romantic. Judy loved Christ and lived a life according to Him.

Memorial Services will be held on September 12, 2020 at Roswell Baptist Church in Roswell, NM at 9 am. Graveside services will follow. Please join us after all services for lunch back at the church to celebrate Judy’s life.
