As part of an ongoing project to replace large-diameter water-line valves in various parts of the city, work is scheduled to begin Monday, Sept. 14, on West Eighth Street near the parking lot of the Nancy Lopez Golf Course at Spring River.

The work in that area is expected to be completed by Sept. 24, according to a press release issued Wednesday by the city of Roswell.

West Eighth Street will be closed to through traffic between Union and Sycamore avenues, but local residential traffic will be able to access the area and all streets. Access to the golf course parking lot will also remain open throughout the project.

The specific work area will be a small portion of West Eighth Street from the west side of the West Eighth Street/Wyoming Avenue intersection to approximately the center of the golf course parking lot entrance.

The Eighth/Wyoming intersection will remain open to traffic going south and east from the intersection, according to the press release.
